Update from Toni

Hi all,
Toni just called. She asked me to post this and let everyone know she is ok. She said - she (and about 100 other people) are standing at the cove because it is the only place they are getting cell reception. Seaside is under a State of Emergency. No power, no gas, no 911, no nothing. She said it is like a war zone - many windows blown out, some metal buildings are blown, winds were 120+ mph, many trees down. She has not heard from Erin.
Hope you are all ok and not washed away.
Love Deb

That is so scary I am just glad to hear you are safe Toni. No major weather things to report here.
Here is another update, don't know where to file this.

My friend who endured Greg-O this weekend had this to share on Monday. Greg explained to them that the reason he wears the shorts he wears is that being a man of his stature it is hard to find shorts that are not too long and baggy. I asked what brought Greg to share this and my friend said he didn't know, but it was weird.

Hi everyone,
Today is a good day. This is the first day I've worken to a warm house and lights! Gosh we take so much for granted. If you all have a chance, I encourage you to donate to the flood victims in Vernonia. You can help by sending even a donation of $5.00 to the site posted and KATU.
I feel like I lost a week of my life, the last normal, if you call it that (smile) was being with all of you!
Could someone please write and tell me due dates, and what all is due, and anything I may have missed. I was not able to complete my report cards without electricity, and wasn't able to get into my classroom, so I'm feeling a bit behind, I may ask for an extension, but I'm thinking there isn't much to do. I hope.
Well, I'm off to the store to restock supplies in my house. Try and get a truck to haul away debri, and check on a few elderly friends.
Hope to hear from ya!

Hey everybody,
This is the first day we have had internet! CRAZY!!! We just got power last night-you should have seen our happy dance! Luckily I had just enough time to run to Camas, pick up Liliana and get home. At first I felt so silly for leaving early because it really wasn't bad out but once I got past Camp 18 it just got scarier and scarier. The winds were so strong I got to see a few branches fly through the wind before we made it home. About thirty minutes after we arrived home the power went out and stayed out for 7 days!!! It was funny because Thursday night around midnight the town got power and it seemed like everyone had power except us. Literally our next door neighbors had power and we didn't. But we got it the next night. One really cool thing was most of the restaurants catered free breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the community church so you could enjoy warmth, great food, visit with everyone from town and hear all of their crazy stories. We were fortunate to have gas heat, hot water and a gas stove so we served grilled cheese sandwiches and tea (the only things we had left in our cupboards) and let people take hot showers.
The best and most awesome part was reconnecting with Luke and our friends. It was so cool how this brought everyone together to play games by candlelight. We also got to use a guys new house who had a natural gas generator so a few of us played games and watched movies there. So we had a lot of fun despite the crazy and scary storm.

Thanks again for being so understanding for us to leave early I really appreciated it. Can't wait to see you all in January. Hope you all have a wonderful Holiday!!! -Erin

Glad to hear that everyone is all right!! Erin, you are so lucky to have gas heat and water! I bet that you were the envy of the neighbors.
Toni- I believe that everything is due on the 24th (everything from last month plus the final paper, monologue, and character booklet from the monolouge) He also said to let him know if anything comes up-ha! because he would extend the date.

I am struggling with a bad case of the flu and thought I was going to die yesterday! Went to my staff Christmas party only to pass out, which hopefully was not the only entertainment of the evening! Randy and Henry are trying to be helpful:)
